Welcome to Tyra's Blog

Tyra is a very brave 3 year old girl from the Isle of Wight who
has stage 4 Wilms syndrome (if you want more info there is plenty on the net), This means that she has a tumor on her right kidney (well there's no kidney left it's all tumor 11cm big) and also cancer in her lungs. Here on her blog you will be able to follow her progress and if you would like you can help her parents Vicky and Steve with the huge costs related to her treatment, you can help by using the donate button to the right.

Tyra had the chemo in Southampton on wed and we got the histology results. There are 28 more weeks of chemo to come and they still want to do radiotherapy to the abdomen and lungs, which will have to be under ga every day as she won't keep still for long enough on her own. Ct scan booked on the 1st oct to set up radiotherapy. Got a couple of names to try and get her pink wig so will chase that up next week. She's doing ok at mo feeling a bit sick but on medication for that.

Chemo went ok on Wednesday, due to go to Southampton on this Wednesday for a triple chemo including the four hour drip and hopefully the results of the biopsy. Then we should find out the future plan for the rest of the treatment. All still up in the air! We're feeling totally drained at the moment.

Operation successful

We've just got back from the kidney removal operation in southampton. All went well and she is recovering so quickly. Huge scar but nothing we can do about that. Straight back on chemo now and in a couple of weeks radiotherapy will start...it's never ending.
